About Organization

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. It was established to implement the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) scheme with the aim of providing quality primary, secondary and higher secondary education to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from remote tribal areas. EMRS schools focus on holistic development with free education, food, accommodation and other facilities to bridge the gap in educational opportunities for tribal children.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Overseeing the daily operations of the hostel, including supervision, meal distribution, and maintenance of facilities.
• Ensuring the safety, health and discipline of students, conducting regular inspections and promptly resolving complaints.
• Coordinate with academic staff for student activities, counseling sessions, and extracurricular programs.
• Preparing attendance records, supply lists and periodic reports on hostel operations.
• Handling emergency situations, implementing child protection measures, and creating a positive living environment.
• Organizing recreational and cultural events to promote student welfare and community building.

आदिवासी विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी राष्ट्रीय शिक्षण संस्था (NESTS) ही भारत सरकारच्या आदिवासी व्यवहार मंत्रालयाच्या अंतर्गत एक स्वायत्त संस्था आहे. दुर्गम आदिवासी भागातील अनुसूचित जमातीच्या (ST) विद्यार्थ्यांना दर्जेदार प्राथमिक, माध्यमिक आणि उच्च माध्यमिक स्तरावरील शिक्षण प्रदान करण्याच्या उद्देशाने एकलव्य मॉडेल निवासी शाळा (EMRS) ही योजना राबविण्यासाठी ही संस्था स्थापन करण्यात आली. EMRS शाळा आदिवासी मुलांसाठी शैक्षणिक संधींमधील तफावत भरून काढण्यासाठी मोफत शिक्षण, भोजन, निवास व्यवस्था आणि इतर सुविधांसह समग्र विकासावर लक्ष केंद्रित करताते.
